Tope and Smoothhounds all around the Area

The Area is really fishing well with lots of Smoothhounds around and the Tope are increasing in numbers. A Tope over 70lbs was caught from Portlogan last week and there were few Spurdog and Bullhuss caught at the weekend. Shore and Rock Marks worth a try are Terrally Bay, Chappelrossan Point,Yellow Isle ,Killantringan Marks for Smoothhound. Pollack Fishing is good on the West side of the Peninsula,Tandoo Point,Lairds, Mull of galloway etc The Mackerel are in numbers in luce Bay and lochryan . Lochryan Sea angling association held a Match on Monrieth Beach, there were around 50 Fish measured and released mostly Flounders ,Small Turbot ,Plaice,Rockling,Wrasse, and a few Dogfish. The Senior Winner was Mark Dewar 2nd Alec Bell and 3rd Gavin Mc Crae The Junior winner was Bruce Copeland and runner -up Cody Mc Crae
