The area is still Fishing well ,when the weather is reasonable. We have had very windy weather this Summer and also quite a lot of Rain ,but when a weather window allows the small Boats and charter Boats to get out the Fishing has been really good. The Shore Angling has also been affected a bit as we have had a lot of Northerlies and Southerlies which blow up and down the Peninsula and affect where you can get a bit of shelter, however there has been a few decent Fish caught from Beach and Rock Marks. Tope are around and in a bit closer to shore at this time of year, there has been a few Common Skate caught on the Portlogan and Portpatrick Areas, also some nice sized Smoothhounds as well as lots of other species. I had a run out on the Boat from Portlogan the other week and we landed a few Codling up to about 21/2lbs ,Red and Grey Gurnards,Spurdog,Tope, ,Haddock,Whiting,Dogfish,Pollack, and Bullhuss as well as a Squid.
